Sent History & Delivery Reports

Every SMS you send—whether from the web dashboard or via the HTTP API—is tracked individually per recipient in Sent (Sent Messages, located at /messages).

Each recipient mobile number in an SMS request generates its own outbound delivery record (SmsOutDelivery) that transitions through the following states:

UI State Label Internal State Meaning
New new The message has been accepted and queued for asynchronous dispatch.
Sent Out sent (or unknown_delivery) The message has been successfully handed off to the telecom carrier and is awaiting the final handset delivery receipt (DLR).
Delivered delivered The telecom carrier confirmed that the SMS was delivered to the recipient’s mobile handset.
Not Delivered not_delivered The carrier reported that the message could not be delivered (for example, the phone was switched off or out of coverage until the message validity period expired, or the number is disconnected).
Processing Error processing_error / failure The message could not be dispatched (for example, due to insufficient account credits, an invalid phone number format, or a duplicate request constraint).

At the top of the Sent Messages (/messages) page, you can combine multiple filters and click Search:

Check one or more state boxes to narrow the list to specific outcomes:
